 At the earliest, the filter plate only has the frame and plate type. and it consists of a plate and a frame, and the plates and the frames are put in order to form the filter chambers.

The frame and plate type filter plates are usually used in manual filter press machines or the same small filter press. Because they can't realize automatic cake discharging, about the big filter press, their filter plate will be bigger and heavier. So it's not easy to shift plates and discharge cakes. But the frame and plate type filter press has higher filtration accuracy because they can be added the filter paper between the two filter plates.   

 
The frame and plate type filter plate has kinds of materials. There are a PP filter plates, stainless steel plate and cast iron plate. In the frame and plate filter plates, the PP filter plate is the most popular, the stainless steel plate is the most clean, and the cast iron plate can withstand the most high pressure and the most high temperature.
